The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) announced today (October 15, 2026) that Harel Finance, through its subsidiary Harel Securities Trading Ltd., has applied to become a TASE member. Subject to approval, Harel will join the 25 banks and non-bank members currently operating in the Israeli capital market.
Harel Finance, the investment house of the Harel Group, has experienced significant growth in recent years and manages assets exceeding NIS 200 billion. Alongside its leading activities in mutual funds, portfolio management, tradable deposits, and alternative investments, the company recently established Harel Securities Trading Ltd. to operate as a TASE member.
Harel is one of Israel’s leading insurance and financial groups, active in insurance, pension savings, capital markets, and financial services, serving more than 4 million clients.
The company intends to develop its new brokerage platform into a comprehensive trading and investment service, offering clients access to securities trading in Israel and international markets, including equities, foreign exchange services, derivatives trading, securities lending, and credit facilities for capital market activities.
The new TASE member is expected to focus primarily on retail investors, providing direct and convenient access to a broad range of trading and investment services.
Elad Simes, who has served in recent years as Harel Finance's Chief of staff and VP of Data & Innovation, has been appointed CEO of the company. Simes has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry across a variety of senior positions.
Michael Benvolgy, CEO of Harel Finance, said: "We are excited about the establishment of our new investment platform and trading operation, which comes amid the growth in retail investor activity in Israel, as well as globally, and our expectation that this trend will continue in the years ahead. As a company committed to providing our clients with a comprehensive range of financial services, operating as a TASE member is a key component of our strategy for the coming years. We are currently working on building the operational infrastructure and supporting systems required for the launch of the business, with significant support from the Harel Group."
Ittai Ben Zeev, CEO of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, said: "The addition of Harel, a leading and highly experienced financial institution, as a TASE member, will provide another meaningful boost to Israel’s capital market. As more high-quality financial institutions enter the market, competition increases, product and service offerings expand, and access to the capital market becomes simpler and more convenient for investors. While Israel’s capital market has gained significant momentum in recent years, its growth potential remains substantial compared with many developed markets around the world. We believe we will continue to see additional local and international institutions joining and operating in the Israeli capital market."
