Goldman Sachs Lists GS ConnectTM S&P GSCITM Enhanced Commodity Total Return Strategy Index ETN On The NYSE - 9th ETN To List On The NYSE

Date 31/07/2007

NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX) today announced that The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc (NYSE: GS) listed their first Exchange Traded Note (ETN), the GS Connect(TM) S&P GSCI(TM) Enhanced Commodity Total Return Strategy Index ETN on the NYSE under the ticker symbol GSC. This ETN is based on the S&P GSCI(TM) Enhanced Commodity Total Return Strategy Index, a total return index which reflects the excess returns and the interest on funds that are potentially available through an unleveraged investment in the commodity futures contracts as are included in the S&P GSCI(TM) Index. The S&P GSCI(TM) Enhanced Commodity Total Return Strategy Index modifies certain rolling rules of the S&P GSCI(TM) index with the goal to generate enhanced returns.

“The GS Connect(TM) S&P GSCI(TM) Enhanced Commodity Total Return Strategy Index ETN gives investors unique exposure to a production and liquidity-weighted basket of commodities with active and liquid contracts from major industrialized countries,” said NYSE Group Senior Vice President, Exchange Traded Funds and Indexes, Lisa Dallmer. “We are pleased to have Goldman Sachs Group Inc list their first Exchange Traded Note on the NYSE. We look forward to providing investors and market professionals with a superior market quality for trading GSC."
