Go4Poland: GPW Foundation’s New Educational & Internship Programme

Date 22/05/2015

  • GPW (Warsaw Stock Exchange) invites Polish students and graduates of the leading foreign universities to take part in the go4Poland programme
  • One thousand young Poles who study abroad will participate in internships in listed companies and bodies of the public administration in a period of four years
  • It will be one of the most prominent educational activities along with the Exchange School implemented by the GPW Foundation established by GPW Group companies

To reach 10 thousand Polish students of foreign universities, to select candidates and invite one thousand of them to participate in internships in listed companies and bodies of the public administration in a period of four years: these are the goals of the go4Poland programme organised by Warsaw Stock Exchange. The programme is designed to assist students and graduates in making informed decisions about where to develop professional skills as well as to help them start a career in Poland.

Young Poles are increasingly mobile, gain education and acquire professional experience around the world. At this time, more than 21,000 Poles are studying abroad. We want them to have the opportunity to successfully apply in Poland all of the expertise they have acquired in the best Western universities. GPW lists more than 900 companies. We want to facilitate their access to the experience and expertise of young people,” said Paweł Tamborski, President of the Management Board of GPW.

Thanks to the honorary patronage of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz  and the Ministry of Treasury, young people will also have the chance to take part in internships in the key bodies of the public administration, affording them the opportunity to acquire unique experience.

Educational activities and the implementation of training and educational programs in support of the development of the capital and commodity markets addressed to a large group of participants are the statutory goals of the GPW Foundation established by GPW Group companies (Warsaw Stock Exchange, Polish Power Exchange, and BondSpot).

“Educational activities are a pillar of building confidence in the capital markets and its participants. The educational activities implemented to date by the exchange will be put into a new organisational framework of the GPW Foundation. This will amplify the scale of the activities and allow them to reach a bigger group of participants and to acquire new partners. We want to build a strong educational brand: the Exchange School to provide training and courses both to beginners in investing and to professional investors. Similar projects are offered by the biggest global exchanges,” said Paweł Tamborski.
