FTSE: Supersector Indices Launched For UK And Europe

To facilitate pan-European and UK sector investment strategies, FTSE Group are launching two new sets of real-time sector indices, which will begin calculating on 20th September 2004.

Based on the FTSEurofirst 300 and FTSE 350, they are specifically designed for the creation of OTC and exchange listed products.

The indices are created using the Supersector tier of the new FTSE/Dow Jones Indexes Industry Classification Benchmark.

FTSE 350 Supersectors

Consisting of the blue chip companies in the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 they provide investors with a new view of one the world’s most important markets. More information is available from www.ftse.com/uk

FTSEurofirst Supersectors

Available as Pan-European and Eurozone only, the indices are derived from the FTSEurofirst 300 Index. They are the latest addition to the fastest growing Pan-European equity family. Click here for more information and real-time performance (available from Monday 20th September).
