FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Dips By 0.7% In October After Seven Months Of Gains – Cboe Global Markets Up 5% In Month, Nasdaq Down By 6.3%

The FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index fell by 0.7 percent in October 2017. The stand-out performer by capital returns in US dollars in October was Cboe Global Markets which experienced a rise of 5 percent. Dubai Financial Market rose by 4.5 percent.

The FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index worst performer by capital returns in US dollars in October was the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, which experienced a 6.3 percent fall. S.C. Romania’s Bursa de Valori Bucuresti S.A. and Nasdaq also fell by 6.3 percent.

Year to date the sector is up 22 percent with Bulgarian Stock Exchange up 77 percent and Cboe Global Markets up 53 percent. Over 12 months Bulgarian Stock Exchange was up 111.3 percent and Cboe Global Markets up 78.9 percent.

Commenting on the Index which closed down at 44,922.07 on 31 October 2017, Herbie Skeete, Managing Director, Mondo Visione and Co-founder of the Index said:

"This was the month when two big beasts of the exchange world decided to step down; Deutsche Boerse’s Carsten Kengeter at the end of 2017 and London Stock Exchange Group’s Xavier Rolet at the end of 2018. Xavier will leave the LSEG in good shape, certainly much better than the one he inherited. We wait to see what direction a new CEO will take Deutsche Boerse. For the new LSEG CEO, Brexit awaits”
