Fourteen New iShares Products Launched In XTF Segment On Xetra - Focused ETF Coverage Of Dividend, Style And Property Markets - First ETFs Covering Taiwan, Korea And Brazil Now Traded On Xetra

Deutsche Börse is further expanding its XTF segment for exchange-traded funds on the pan-European trading platform Xetra. On Thursday, fourteen new iShares plc funds were listed by Barclays Global Investors (BGI). The new ETFs offer increased investment opportunities covering geographic, bonds and yield-based market trends.

The new iShares exchange traded funds include expanded coverage of yield based investment themes: property, dividends and value. The additional products also allow investors focused coverage of international, global and emerging markets, including first time dedicated coverage of Taiwan, Korea and Brazil in the XTF segment. Specific Eurozone focus is enhanced by key style funds. The bond asset class is reflected by both inflation-linked and corporate bonds.

“The launch of these 14 new products marks a significant step in the expansion of Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment.” said Rainer Riess, Deutsche Börse Managing Director and Head of Stock Market Business Development on the occasion of a joint Deutsche Börse and iShares press briefing held in Frankfurt. “The additional range represents a notable contribution to the innovation and diversity of Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment, unparalleled as Europe’s strongest market for exchange-traded funds” added Riess.

Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment is Europe’s leading market place for exchange-traded funds. With currently 95 index funds, it offers the largest range of any European stock market, with more than 50 percent of total trading volume in exchange-traded index funds for the whole of Europe. In January 2006 trading in the XTF segment reached 5.4 bn Euro the highest volume since its launch in April 2000, and exceeding 5 bn Euro for the first time.
