The award ceremony for the Structured Products Europe Awards 2016 was held last night at "The Mayfair" in London. A delegation of SIX Swiss Exchange led by André Buck, Head Sales, accepted the prestigious "Exchange of the Year" award as part of a formal ceremony.
The Structured Products Europe awards have an excellent reputation in the industry. They were introduced to recognize the best European financial service providers on the structured product market. The awards also include the strongest index providers, technology companies, and ETF providers.
"The award honors our comprehensive catalog of services and continuous expansion in a demanding market environment, with the focus on the customer. In recent months, we have introduced several new initiatives and products to the market which is an achievement we can be very proud of. Being named exchange of the year is a great honor and proves that we are on the right track. Special thanks go to our employees, customers, and partners for their magnificent support."
Achieving success with initiatives and new products
This year has been characterized by initiatives and new products, including the start of the non-regulated bilateral trading platform XBTR and the introduction of automated symbol allocation for new listings in the field of structured products, the launch of the new index family SPI Multi Premia® and, just recently, the introduction of SwissAtMid. This new service allows for trades in Swiss shares in a non-observable liquidity pool at the midpoint price of the public order book.
In September, SIX Swiss Exchange also launched a program to raise the profile of listed small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Using "Stage", a minimum level of trading liquidity shall be ensured, enabling SMEs to use the capital markets efficiently.
Finally, SIX Swiss Exchange and SIX Structured Products Exchange are to introduce their new fee models on 1 January 2017, making the trading platform more attractively priced for both issuers and investors.
