The European Supervisory Authorities (the ESAs – the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and the European Banking Authority (EBA)) held a Public Hearing on the Key Information Document (KID) for Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (PRIIPs) in Frankfurt on 9 December 2015.
The ESAs are currently consulting on their regulatory technical standards (RTS) for PRIIPS and the purpose of the Public Hearing was to explain the PRIIPs consultation paper to stakeholders and provide an opportunity for them to raise questions. The consultation closes on 29 January 2016.
