European Energy Exchange - 377,668 Megawatt Hours Of Electricity Traded In September

EEX, the European Energy Exchange, reported its turnover figures for September on Friday: 377,668 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity were traded at EEX in September. This corresponds to an increase of 23 percent compared with the previous month (305.952 MWh).

Of the total volume, 97,168 MWh were traded in individual hours and 280,500 MWh were traded in blocks. In trading of blocks, 139,404 MWh were peak-load and 141,096 MWh were base-load.

The prices in the case of peak-load blocks amounted to 32.35 euros on a volume-weighted daily average in September, and ranged between 38 euros/MWh and 27.2 euros/MWh. In trading of base-load blocks, the prices ranged between 10.6 euros and 29 euros per MWh; in the case of individual hours, the average daily prices ranged between 10.03 euros and 37.06 euros/MWh.
