Euronext Confirms Discussions With London Stock Exchange

Following the announcement by the London Stock Exchange plc ("LSE") on 20 December, Euronext NV ("Euronext") confirms that it has made an approach to the LSE with a view to entering into preliminary discussions about a possible offer for the LSE.

There can be no assurance at this stage that any offer will be made.
