Euronext Amsterdam And Association Of Hoeklieden Reach Agreement On Claim

Date 01/05/2001

Euronext Amsterdam and the Association of Hoeklieden (Vereniging van Hoeklieden) in Amsterdam have reached agreement on arrangements regarding the abolition of the capacity of hoekman at Euronext Amsterdam’s stock market. This issue is related to the plans to replace TSA with NSC, the new trading system.

The main aspects of the arrangements are as follows:

  • Except for in exceptional circumstances, Euronext Amsterdam will not make any changes to the TSA trading system that could adversely affect the position of hoekman firms in the trading process before the migration to the new trading system takes place.
  • Euronext Amsterdam will pay out a total amount of NLG 15 million to the hoekman firms in connection with the abolition of the capacity of hoekman in the new trading system. This amount is based on the amounts the firms paid to the exchange in the past for the right to trade in the securities assigned to them. The distribution of the amount among individual firms will be decided on the basis of consultations within the Association of Hoeklieden.
  • On the basis of this, the Association of Hoeklieden has abandoned its claim for NLG 275 million.
