Eurex To Introduce Option On Orange - International Stock Option Segment Expanded Further

Eurex, the international derivatives market, is introducing the option including Lepos on the shares of Orange S.A. on April 23. The product specification of this stock option is designed analogous to existing options on French equities at Eurex. The new product will have terms of up to nine months.

Eurex, the world market leader, is underscoring the growing importance of this product group through the ongoing expansion of its stock option segment. With the stock option on Orange, Eurex is expanding its product line for both institutional and private investors to a total of 26 stock options in its international stock options segment. Eurex also offers 37 German and 27 Swiss stock options.

The market interest in options on European stock options is increasing continuously: A total of 35 million stock option contracts have already been traded at Eurex this year. This corresponds to 50 percent growth over the previous year in the volume of contracts traded in this segment. Volume of 3.7 million contracts has already been traded in the international stock options segment so far this year, compared with 200,000 contracts for the same period of last year.
