The Portuguese Minister of State and Finance and executives from leading Portuguese listed companies were hosted today by Duncan Niederauer, CEO of NYSE Euronext, at the second Portuguese Day, which is taking place at the New York Stock Exchange today and tomorrow.
Senior executives representing corporate members of the PSI 20 Index (the Lisbon Euronext reference Index) rang The Opening Bell together with Minister Fernando Teixeira dos Santos and hosts. At a luncheon at NYSE Euronext, the Minister shared his views on the economic and investment climate in Portugal and the European Union with investors and U.S. institutions.
The event is organized by Espírito Santo Investment and NYSE Euronext Lisbon and provides leading Portuguese companies an opportunity to address the U.S. and global investor communities.
Miguel Athayde Marques, Chairman and CEO of NYSE Euronext Lisbon, and a member of NYSE Euronext Management Committee, said, “It’s my pleasure to welcome the participating listed companies from Portugal to the New York Stock Exchange. Senior level executives, most CEOs and CFOs, participated in a number of activities at the NYSE which include two days of meetings with some of the largest institutional investors.
