The Drafting Committee of the Best Practice Principles for Governance Research Providers has launched a public consultation on the draft Principles which concern activities associated with the provision of shareholder voting and analytical services.
The Committee – which is independent from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) – has drafted the Principles following ESMA’s 19 February 2013 Final Report which states that the proxy advisory industry would benefit from increased disclosure and transparency regarding how it operates.

The deadline for submitting responses to the consultation is 20 December 2013 at 12.00 CET.
