Equity Option On Postbank Tradable On Eurex As Of June 24 - Investor Interest In Equity Options Growing Constantly

Equity options on Deutsche Postbank AG will be tradable on the international derivatives market Eurex as of June 24. The options on Postbank have a contract size of one hundred shares and a maximum maturity of up to 12 months. Postbank has been listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since June 23, 2004.

“The Postbank equity option can be traded one day after the IPO,” said Rudolf Ferscha, CEO of Eurex. “The equity option on Postbank will further enhance our comprehensive product offering and will provide investors with an important instrument for their risk management.”

The expansion of its equity options segment highlights the growing importance of this product group for Eurex. Investor interest in equity options is growing constantly. In the first five months of 2004, more than 98 million equity options contracts were traded on Eurex, an increase of 36 percent to the same period in 2003 (72.2 million contracts). With the introduction of the new option on Postbank, Eurex now offers options on 159 equities.
