ELX Reports Open Interest And Volume Records In Eurodollar Futures And Record Market Share In Two-Year U.S. Treasury Futures For The Month Of November

ELX Futures, L.P. (ELX) announced today that November was another record-setting month for its Eurodollar futures contract. ELX reported record open interest (OI) and record volume in Eurodollar futures, with OI hitting 192,068 contracts on November 30. Eurodollar futures also set a new volume record, reaching 40,794 contracts on November 9. Month over month, market share in the Eurodollar contract increased 14% since October. In addition, November was a record-setting month for ELX’s two-year U.S. Treasury futures contract, with market share soaring to 13.4% on November 2.

MTD November Highlights:

  • OI for Eurodollar futures set a single day record, reaching 192,068 contracts on November 30; since October, OI for Eurodollar futures has increased 73%.
  • Eurodollar futures set a new volume record, hitting 40,794 contracts on November 30.
  • Market share in Eurodollar futures for the month of November reached 1%, up over 13% from October.
  • Eurodollar futures also established a single day market share record, reaching almost 2% on November 23.
  • Average Daily Volume (ADV) soared 88% month over month for Eurodollar futures and rose 5% for combined U.S. Treasury futures.
  • ADV for total U.S. Treasury futures increased 15% from November 2009.
  • Market share in the two-year U.S. Treasury futures contract topped 5% in November.
  • OI for total U.S. Treasury futures set a single day market share record on November 4.
  • Two-year U.S. Treasury futures set a new volume record, hitting 29,433 contracts on November 23.
  • ELX continues to aggressively pursue the EFF transaction for the benefit of market users.
