In order to activate the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the American Chamber of Commerce, signed on April 24, EGX held the first workshop for brokerage firms regarding the basics and applications related to internal audit, risk hedging and corporate governance requirements.
"One of the most important investment forms is to build and develop human capabilities. They will enable them to design and implement efficient policies that enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of the Egyptian capital market", said Mohamed Farid, EGX Chairman.
EGX training center organized the first training program titled "Qualified Internal Auditor" which was held at EGX Smart Village Premise during the period from 13 to 16 May.
He pointed out that establishing and developing the capacity of capital market auditors is an approach to that protects the market to achieve greater stability for market participants.
21 trainees representing 18 brokerage firms attended the workshop that EGX offered at a cost 50% less that the cost of similar programs. Mr. Farid noted that these workshops would enhance the securities industry professionals to acquire internal audit knowledge, control and hedging practices.
The diverse training process in the capital market, such as financial institutions, listed companies, brokerage firms and other institutions related to the securities industry.
"The mechanism of financial markets requires continuous development of the capabilities of human capital, which is important in expanding reforms and raising the competitiveness of the capital market," he said.
Farid finally assured that training courses in the various fields will be regularly developed and updated to meet the updating needs of the securities industry.
