Upon consultation with the European Commission and the participating Member States (for the EU platform) and with the German authorities (for the German platform) the European Energy Exchange (EEX) has determined the 2013 auction calendar for EU allowances (EUA) of the third trading period.
EU auction platform
In its capacity of the transitional common auction platform, EEX will conduct the EUA auctions on the Spot Market on three days per week – each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday – from 7 January through 17 December 2013.
German auction platform
In its capacity of the transitional German auction platform, EEX will conduct the EUA auctions on each Friday, starting on 11 January 2013 through 13 December 2013.
For all these EUA auctions the bidding window will be open from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. CET. More detailed information is available in the Auction Calendar at the following link: http://www.eex.com/en/Download/Documentation
If necessary, EEX will inform about any adjustments to the 2013 Auction Calendar as soon as possible and at a minimum of two weeks in advance of the changes taking effect.
The auctions of EU aviation allowances (EUAA) are still put on hold. The calendar for aviation allowances is not expected to be determined before January 2013. Once the Commission’s proposal is agreed, the volume that was originally scheduled for the auctions for 2012 will be adjusted and will be auctioned in February to April 2013. Theauctions of phase 3 aviation allowances will start from May 2013.
