The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has published the calendar for the auctioning of EU aviation emission allowances (EUAA) for 2018 in coordination with the European Commission and the participating member states as well as with the competent German and Polish authorities.
EU auctions
In its capacity as the common auction platform appointed by 25 Member States, EEX will conduct four auctions of EU aviation allowances (EUAA) in 2018:
23rd May | 958,000 EUAAs |
18th July | 958,000 EUAAs |
12th September | 958,000 EUAAs |
21st November | 955,000 EUAAs |
Auction for Germany
In its capacity as the auction platform appointed by the Federal Republic of Germany, EEX will conduct one EUAA auction of 800,500 EUAAs which will be held on Wednesday, 10th October 2018.
Auction for Poland
EEX will also conduct one EUAA auction of 112,000 EUAAs on behalf of Poland on Wednesday, 20th June 2018.
For all EUAA auctions on EEX, the bidding window will be open from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., CET, different from the bidding window for EUA auctions. Clearing and settlement of the emission allowances is conducted by European Commodity Clearing (ECC).
