The EEX Power Derivatives launches today trading in French Week Futures on its Power Derivatives Market.
It is for the first time that a financial settled futures contract is available for the French market. Until 02:00 pm, a total of 13,200 MWh was traded in the new product. In line with the Phelix Week Futures for Germany, the French Week Futures enable trading participants to execute exchange transactions on the short end of the Derivatives Market curve.
EEX Power Derivatives GmbH operates the German and the French Power Derivatives Market and, hence, occupies a central position in power trading in Continental Europe. EEX AG holds 80 percent of the shares in EEX Power Derivatives GmbH and the French Powernext SA holds the remaining 20 percent. Currently, 158 companies are admitted to trading on EEX Power Derivatives.
