EEX: First Exchange Trade In EUA Futures Beyond 2020

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) registered its first exchange trade in EUA Futures beyond 2020 last Friday. The trade for delivery in December 2021 was closed between Axpo Trading AG and Statkraft Markets GmbH at a price of 4.85 Euro/EUA and comprised a volume of 5,000 tonnes of CO₂. Already on 28 October 2016, the first OTC trade for this product was registered at EEX for clearing. From tomorrow on, five annual maturities beyond 2020 are available for trading and clearing at EEX.
