EEX Expands Access To Its Markets Via SunGard’s Valdi Solution

Date 04/02/2013

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) further expands access to its exchange markets, having finalised an agreement with the software provider SunGard. The agreement facilitates access to the EEX derivatives products via SunGard’s Valdi trading solution.

SunGard is a worldwide operating software and technology services provider with headquarters in the United States. Traders and brokers connected to SunGard already have access to various commodities. Through the link to EEX’s Eurex trading system, energy products listed on EEX will also be tradable via SunGard’s Valdi solution.

Philippe Carré, global head of connectivity for SunGard’s capital markets business, says, “The continued challenging conditions in the European equities markets are pushing banks, brokers and fund managers to diversify their investments through commodities and derivatives trading. SunGard is helping by extending its connectivity to key trading venues such as the European Energy Exchange. With EEX, SunGard’s Valdi solution suite provides connectivity to more than 30 energy and commodities exchanges across the globe.”

Steffen Köhler, chief operating officer at EEX, adds, “SunGard’s Valdi solution offers a cost-effective and efficient way for our members and their DMA clients to access the EEX markets and will help facilitate the access of new participants to our exchange.”
