EEX Chief Financial Officer Iris Weidinger Confirmed In Office

Iris Weidinger’s position as a member of the Executive Board was renewed by the Supervisory Board of European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) by three years with effect from 15 August 2011. This was announced by the EEX Supervisory Board following its meeting on 21 October 2010. As a result of this decision Iris Weidinger will continue to be in charge of the European Energy Exchange‘ s departments of finance, boards and human resources in the capacity of the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Iris Weidinger, who has a degree in business management and is a renowned finance and tax expert, joined EEX as early as in June 2000 and was appointed a member of the Executive Board by the Supervisory Board in August 2008 in order to take account of the increasing internationalisation of the energy exchange and the continuous alignment into a strategic holding company.

At the same time, Iris Weidinger is also a member of the Board of EPEX Spot, the Paris-based joint subsidiary of EEX and the French Powernext, which operates shortterm power trading for Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland. Moreover, she is a member of the supervisory board of the majority-owned Leipzig-based EEX Power Derivatives, which is in charge of derivatives trading for power in Germany and France.
