Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) today welcomed an official government delegation from Scotland to explore areas of collaboration with a particular focus in Islamic economy.
The delegation headed by Humza Yousaf, Scotland Minister for External Affairs and International Development was hosted by His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of Dubai Financial Centre, who provided an overview on DIFC's value proposition, as well as on the unique dynamics of the UAE's financial services industry.
The delegation visited the UAE with an aim to boost Scotland's collaboration with DIFC and to discuss strategic cooperation in the areas of financial services, renewable energy, education and tourism.
His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre affirmed that each new engagement adds another pillar of strength to the financial services hub. Essa Kazim said: "We are proud to host the delegation today and hope delegates found their visit to one of the most dynamic and open emerging economies helpful in strengthening the links between Dubai, the wider UAE and Scotland. The engagement between the two countries serves as a cornerstone for the versatile financial market we are building in DIFC. Dubai International Financial Centre understands international requirements of stability and efficiency for businesses to thrive which have been reflected in our judicial framework."
Essa Kazim concluded, "Not only do we guarantee the quality of our legal system, framework and the services provided, but we will go further to help clients expand their footprints in key markets of Middle East and North Africa."
