Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has organized a special ceremony to celebrate the UAE Women’s Day, the Initiative of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak (Mother of the Nation), in order to recognize women’s significant achievements and contribution in the UAE’s progress.
During the event, Maryam Fekri, Chief Operation Officer (COO) and Head of Clearing, Settlement and Depository Division (CSD), reaffirmed that women’s accomplishments in the UAE underlines the wise leadership’s vision to empower women as a key partner in the development of the country. DFM is at the forefront of the national institutions in terms of implementation of this vision since its inception, as women have been playing a major role in its momentous journey over the past 16 years and they account for 59% of its workforce.”
“Many of DFM’s key divisions and departments are nearly entirely run by women with high level of success and effectiveness. In fact, the UAE women have a deep-rooted legacy of success starting from the active participation in traditional businesses in the past leading to today’s achievements. Currently, UAE women are in a leading position compared to their counterpart in the region and in many of the developed countries in terms of educational, government work, company management as well as holding ministerial and parliamentary positions”, Maryam Fekri added.
