Dr. Gordon S. Chen was elected Chairman of the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC) on August 10, 2006.
Dr. Gordon Chen is a seasoned public servant with a distinguished record of success. For 27 years in the civil service, he has been promoted rapidly through the ranks. Prior to his tenure at the TSEC, he has, successively, held offices of the Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission, a Cabinet-level Division Director in the Executive Yuan, and Deputy Minister of Finance. He is also an Adjunct Professor at National Chengchi University.
Dr. Chen was granted the D. D. Eisenhower Fellowship in year 2000. He took the opportunity exposing to the financial markets and regulatory frameworks in the USA.
Born in 1954, Dr. Chen graduated from National Chengchi University in 1979 with a master degree in Public Finance, and earned his Ph. D. Degree in Business Administration from National Taiwan University in 1998.
