Deutsche Börse: Extended Trading Hours For Certificates Well Received - Cash Markets’ Turnover In July €124.3 Billion

Date 01/08/2018

Since 22 June 2018, investors can trade certificates and warrants on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (formerly 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.). The number of trades in the extended trading hours corresponds to a share of around 7 percent of total order flow after trades and therefore exceeded expectations.

„Our analysis suggests that most of these are additional trades. This confirms our decision to extend trading hours. Our customers are also accepting the extended trading hours well“, says Florian Claus, Executive Board Member of Börse Frankfurt Zertifikate AG. Meanwhile, 1.2 million products from 12 issuers are tradable. This means that around 75 percent of all structured products tradable in Frankfurt are covered between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
