Deutsche Börse looks back on 2007 as a positive year for the primary market. As of 27 December 2007, there have been a total of 230 new listings in all segments in Frankfurt. This means that Deutsche Börse has topped the excellent results from the previous year yet again.
33 of the new companies were listed in Prime Standard (2006: 40 companies), 4 in General Standard (2006: 9 companies), and 43 companies in Entry Standard (2006: 59). The open market recorded the largest year-on-year growth with 150 new listings (2006: 102 companies).
The total issue volume is exactly as in 2006, at €7.8 billion. In terms of issue volume, the largest IPOs this year were Tognum with €2.0 billion, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG with €1.2 billion, and Gerresheimer with €912 million. The 230 new entrants accounted for a market capitalization of around €33.0 billion; in 2006 this figure amounted to €32.4 billion.
In an international comparison, Deutsche Börse has also further improved its position as a cost-efficient listing venue with high liquidity. This year saw 7 IPOs from China for the first time, including Zhong De and Asian Bamboo in Prime Standard. Deutsche Börse also saw its first IPOs from Russia/CIS – a total of 8 companies made their debut on the open market. These figures confirm the increasing internationalization of the primary market.
In November, Deutsche Börse launched an independent REITs segment with the IPO of alstria office-REIT AG, creating a visible listing platform for this asset class. Fair Value REIT-AG was the second company to enter Deutsche Börse's REITs segment, in December.
