Dalian Commodity Exchange Organizes Workshop For Options Traders

From June 15 to 19, Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) held the “Workshop for Traders of Commodity Futures and Options” in Dalian. Delivering lectures at the workshop at the invitation was Mr. Larry Shover, a US-based senior options trader and chief options training expert with the company of OpTech, and attending the training were 32 participants from the research departments of domestic futures companies and 19 participants from industrial clients and investment institutions.
 
During the one-week-long training, Larry Shover lectured in detail on the specialized contents such as the basic concept of establishing the key options trading and the components of the commodity option price, the movement of option price and the application of the Greeks, the option volatility, the analysis of the common strategies for the bullish, bearish and neutral markets of commodity futures and options, and the compound positions (practicing using compound positions to identify market opportunities and choosing different strategies in trading).
 
According to a DCE official, as a practical training course in preparation for the listing of the soybean meal option on DCE, the workshop was designed for the option business personnel of the member units, the traders of industrial clients and the commodity futures traders of investment institutions who have had some basic knowledge of the options theories and have been highly experienced in futures trading. The practical training was held in order to develop some specialists with some practical trading experiences for domestic futures companies, industrial clients and investment institutions, as well as the high-level options talents in domestic commodity futures and options markets, and it was also an important part of DCE’s efforts in serving the members and cultivating the options market.
 
At the end of the workshop, the participants said that through the training they had further grasped the practical skills of commodity futures and options trading, improved the actual-combat level of commodity options trading and been well prepared for the listing of the agricultural futures and options, and they would work for and effectively support all market participants in involving in and utilizing the options.
