The CME is increasing the contract size of the Russian Ruble futures contracts by a factor of five -- from 500,000 to 2,500,000 Russian Rubles.
The minimum price fluctuation is also changing, from 0.000025 dollars per ruble (worth $12.50 at the old contract size), to 0.00001 dollars per ruble (worth $25 at the new contract size.)
Effective on Sunday, September 3rd, the new larger Russian Ruble contracts will be launched on Globex and on the trading floor on Tuesday, September 5th. The RU commodity code will be reused for these newly listed contracts. The March 2001 and June 2001 futures and options contracts will be listed. The normal listing schedule will be resumed.
