Clearstream To Offer Settlement And Custody For Mexican "Cebures" - Mexican Corporate Debt Now Eligible In Clearstream Via Its Link To The Mexican Central Securities Depository - First Eligible Corporate Bonds By Comisión Federal De Electricidad (CFE) - Berthold Kracke: "An Important Step For The Mexican Capital Markets"

Date 11/06/2015

Clearstream is now able to offer settlement and custody for Mexican corporate debt instruments ("Cebures"). This move will give international investors access to Mexican Peso-denominated securities and in return unlock the pool of capital provided by Clearstream’s international customers for Mexican corporate issuers.

The first Cebures serviced by Clearstream will be corporate bonds issued by Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE).

The new offering comes in addition to Clearstream’s existing services offered via its link to the Mexican central securities depository, Indeval, operated by Banco Nacional de México (Banamex).

Berthold Kracke, Head of Business Management and Member of the Clearstream Executive Board, commented: "We are delighted about this new partnership as it further solidifies Clearstream’s position as a leading provider for post-trade services worldwide and brings new investment opportunities in a very promising market. At the same time, Mexican corporate issuers gain access to Clearstream’s international customer base and will benefit from our excellent service offering. This is an important step for the Mexican capital markets and we are honoured to contribute to the evolution of the Mexican economy."
