China Financial Services Market-Access Resolution Supported By SIFMA

Date 05/09/2007

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today lent its support to H. Res. 552, which calls on China to remove barriers to U.S. financial firms doing business there. The resolution was introduced by Jim Marshall (D-GA).

“Eliminating these burdensome barriers to entry will provide American financial services firms with new opportunities for growth, while delivering capital, expertise, innovation and experience to the Chinese capital markets,” said Marc Lackritz, president and CEO of SIFMA. “These US firms can help China develop an efficient, modern financial services system, which is the foundation for any sound economy. It is a worthy goal that will benefit both nations.”
