Chicago Climate Futures Exchange (CCFE®), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chicago Climate Exchange, Inc. (CCX®), announced today that on May 27, 2008, CCFE established a new record for total daily volume in CCFE Carbon Financial Instrument® (CFI®) futures, with 622 contracts traded (622,000 metric tons CO2). Along with the new record yesterday for total daily volume, weekly volume for the CCFE CFI futures contract exceeded 1 million mt tons CO2e for the first time, with 1,063 contracts traded last week.
CCFE CFI futures and options have traded 9,359 contracts year-to-date in 2008, versus 3,566 contracts traded in 2007.
