CHF128,768 Million In Turnover On SWX In March 2001

A total volume of CHF128,768 million was traded on SWX in March, 22.62 percent more than the month before. The total comprises CHF 102,927 million in equities (including funds), CHF19,102 million in bonds, CHF 3,671 in derivatives, CHF 1,249 in USD denominated Eurobonds, CHF 1,780 in EUR denominated Eurobonds and CHF 40 in GBP denominated Eurobonds.

A total volume of 1,072,420 trades were transacted on SWX in March. The total comprises 885,466 trades in equities (including funds), 73,839 in bonds, 108,562 in derivatives, 8,453 in USD denominated Eurobonds, 13,345 in EUR denominated Eurobonds and 498 in GBP denominated Eurobonds.

The SMI index closed at month-end at 7,167.8, a decrease of 6.93% compared to the previous month. The change since the start of the year was -3.50%. The SPI index closed at month-end at 4,952.3, a decrease of 6.93% compared to the previous month. The change since the start of the year was -2.43%.
