Chartered Institute For Securities & Investment Signs MoU With Financial Markets Association

The CISI has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ACI – The Financial Markets Association, which is headquartered in Paris.

The MOU recognises both the ACI's Operations and Dealing certificates as one unit of the CISI's Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ), which from January 2011 will be known as the International Operations Certificate (IOC).

Holders of either of these certificates will need to complete only two further IAQ/IOC unit exams to gain the full CISI qualification and will then be eligible to apply for membership of the Institute. Candidates who pass the ACI Diploma will be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the CISI.

The ACI, the largest association of wholesale market professionals, has 13,000 members from 68 countries.

Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI, CISI CEO said: “The CISI is delighted to enter into this collaboration to expand the professional education of members of the ACI, with which CISI has synergies in many part of the world in which the ACI has its national associations.”

Andreas Emser, ACI Director of Education, said: “Recognition of these ACI Certificates by the CISI will allow financial services staff taking the IAQ/IOC to include foreign exchange and treasury services in their specialism, enabling them to increase their skill set.'”
