CESR And CEBS Announces A Second Public Hearing On Commodities

The Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR)and the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) are organising a second public hearing on commodities on 4 September 2008 at the CEBS premises in London.

The public consultation on the CESR/CEBS advice on Commodities closed on 1 August 2008. The responses have been be published on the CESR and CEBS websites. The industry responses on the consultation are currently beeing analysed and considering possible/necessary revisions of the advice to the European Commission.

As already indicated at the first public hearing on 7 July 2008 it is also planned to discuss the outcome of these considerations at the second public hearing. A revised version of the draft advice will be available a few days before this date.
