C-Com Nickel Futures Contract To Be Delisted

Date 27/08/2008

The current trial period for the Nickel futures contract expires on September 1, 2008 and C-Com has made a decision for not applying for another extension due to the current and past poor trading environment of the Japanese futures industry, which led the Exchange to believe that there was little hope for a recovery in the future, despite vigorous efforts in promoting the market made by the Exchange.

Delisting of the Nickel futures contract will take place in the following manner;
  1. No new contract months shall be listed after July 2009.
  2. After September 1, 2008, only offsetting transactions of the existing contract months (November 2008, January, March. May and July 2009) shall be allowed, and no new transactions shall be made except under extraordinary circumstances. The market will be closed when the existing open interest of such contract months are all settled.
