CBOT Has No Plans To Delay Trading Due To NY Power Outage

As of 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2003, trading on the Chicago Board of Trade electronic trading platform will open as scheduled at 8:00 p.m.(Chicago Time). The CBOT® open auction markets also will open as scheduled on Friday, August 15, 2003, at 7: 20 a.m. (Chicago Time)

The CBOT is monitoring the situation regarding the Mohawk Power Grid overload and its effect on trading activity in New York. In the event of any delay in trading in New York tomorrow due to the power outage, the CBOT will coordinate with other financial markets, in addition to U.S. regulatory authorities, and a decision will be announced at that time.
