CBOE Futures Exchange Volume Reaches Milestone - Surpasses 100,000 Contract Benchmark

CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced today that at the end of trading yesterday, total trading volume since the inception of the exchange reached 100,096 contracts traded, surpassing the 100,000 contract benchmark. CFE was launched on March 26, 2004.

CFE is a new, all-electronic futures exchange offering futures on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), CBOE S&P 500 Three-Month Variance (VT), CBOE China Index (CX), and beginning Friday, February 4, 2005, futures on the Russell 1000 Index (RN) and Mini-Russell 2000 Index (RT).

"As volume and open interest continue to build, it is clear that investors are incorporating CFE's innovative products into their investment strategies," said Patrick Fay, Managing Director, CBOE Futures Exchange.
