CBOE Breaks Volume Record

A record number of option contracts traded on Thursday, January 20, 2000 at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Records were broken for both total option volume as well as stock option volume. A total of 2,102,294 option contracts traded Thursday, surpassing the previous record of 2,095,640 option contracts, set on November 19, 1999. Stock option volume was 1,727,287 contracts, breaking the previous record of 1,690,417 set on December 17, 1999.
