Capital Pool Company ProgramĀ® Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary - Program Is Exclusive To TSX Venture Exchange

Date 21/11/2011

TSX Venture Exchange today announced that the Capital Pool Company (CPC™) program is celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

The CPC program provides an alternative, two-step introduction to listing on TSX Venture Exchange. Through the program, CPC founders with financial markets experience raise a pool of capital that is listed on the Exchange as a CPC. The CPC founders then seek out entrepreneurs with growth and development stage companies. Once a fit is found between the two, they complete a business combination known as a Qualifying Transaction (QT). Once a CPC has completed its QT, it forms a regular company listed on TSX Venture Exchange.

"TSX Venture Exchange is very proud to celebrate this significant milestone," said John McCoach, President, TSX Venture Exchange. "Over the past 25 years, the CPC program has provided a unique listing method for companies, and we look forward to continuing to facilitate growth and access to capital for our customers through this proven listing vehicle."

Since its inception in 1986, 2,249 CPCs have listed on TSX Venture Exchange (and its predecessor exchanges) as of September 30, 2011. In 2010, 98 new CPCs listed on the Exchange, and 128 QTs were completed. Over the past 10 years, 180 companies that originally listed as CPCs have graduated from TSX Venture Exchange to Toronto Stock Exchange.
