Canadian Climate Exchange

WCE Holdings Inc. today announced the creation of Canadian Climate Exchange Inc. (CCE). CCE will examine and develop market-based solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gases. In particular, CCE will explore the concept and creation of an emissions exchange in Canada. CCE intends to participate actively in industry and government discussions examining emissions trading as part of the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol in Canada.

CCE builds on the experience of Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) to create an efficient, low cost, and secure marketplace for emissions trading. This represents a significant commitment by WCE to the climate change issue and reflects the potential opportunities arising out of the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol in Canada. WCE has been in operation continually since 1887, operating Canada's only commodity exchange.
