Date 29/07/2015

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) today opened registration for the CalPERS Diversity Forum, titled 'Making the Difference in Business and Finance,' to examine diversity and inclusion practices across the spectrum of corporate and investment organizations.

Speakers and panels at the September 10 forum, to be held at the Sacramento Convention Center, will look at the representation of women and minorities on corporate boards and at investment management firms, and discuss best practices for building a diverse and inclusive culture, among other topics.

In addition to CalPERS, organizations that will participate in the forum include the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS); The Blackstone Group; The Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford; Coca Cola; Credit Suisse; GCM Grosvenor; Genentech; Mars, Inc.; McKinsey & Company; the University of California, Berkeley; and the University of the Pacific.

The forum is geared for corporate board members and executives, diversity officers, institutional investors and investment companies, and representatives from academic institutions. Registration is $275 per person but due to capacity constraints firms are limited to two attendees. Registration is now open on a first-come, first-serve basis.
