European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) and Powernext SA are planning to introduce a new Spot Power Market auction system in the context of the creation of their joint Spot company. Even though they are not legally obliged to under the contract award regulations, the partners will issue a public invitation to tender in order to give interested suppliers an opportunity to participate in a free and open procedure.
All bidders wishing to participate in the tendering procedure are invited to formally ap-ply by 22 August 2008. The relevant application documents are available upon an in-quiry by email to apply-for-nas@powernext.fr.
Amongst other elements, the application documents consist of a tender procedure participation contract and a vendor application. The tender procedure participation contract comprises the recognition of the terms of the tender and a confidentiality obligation. The vendor application consists of a questionnaire.
The bidders that apply completely and in due time are regarded in the pre-selection procedure. EEX AG and Powernext SA will use the documents submitted by the bid-ders as the basis for this pre-selection in order to decide which bidders will be considered as candidates in the subsequent contract awarding procedure. These pre-selected candidates will then receive the further tender documents.
