Total number of trading days in March 2008 amounted to 21 days with total value traded of US$ 13,134.78 million (LE 72,241.25 million). Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 11,058.26 million (LE 60,820.41 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 93.48%, 6.52% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 2,076.52 million (LE 11,420.84 million), which represents 16% of total value traded for the month.
This is in comparison to February 2008, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 7,104.49 million (LE 39,074.70 million), of which shares represented 98.04%, bonds 1.96% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 668.25 million (LE 3,675.38 million) i.e. 9% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached US$ 7,772.74 million (LE 42,750.07 million).
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 2,800.99 million securities.
During March 2008, 1,578,159 transactions were concluded with an average of 75,150 trades per day, as opposed to 1,256,679 transactions and an average of 62,834 trades per day in February 2008.

CASE 30 price index, the official market index, witnessed a 0.20% increase in March 2008 to reach 11,357.38 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 57.92%.
Likewise, the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans 20 index closed at 2340.81 points on 31/03/2008, with no change over the month, recording a 50.73% increase on a YoY basis.
