Total number of trading days in June 2006 amounted to 21 days with total value traded of LE 12,397.92 million. Value traded of listed securities amounted to LE 11,835.64 million, of which shares, bonds and funds represented 90.94%, 9.06% and 0.00%, respectively. On the other hand, OTC trading reached LE 562.28 million, which represents 5% of total value traded for the month.
This is in comparison to May 2006, when value traded of listed securities amounted to LE 23,013.37 million, of which shares represented 95.89%, bonds 4.11% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to LE 923.46 million i.e. 4% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached LE 23,936.83 million.
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 434.30 million securities.
During June 2006, 406,294 transactions were concluded with an average of 19,347 trades per day, as opposed to 553,149 transactions and an average of 25,143 trades per day in May 2006.
Indices
CASE 30 Price index, the official market index, witnessed a 11.01% decrease in June 2006 to reach 4772.78 points and witnessed a 1.16% decrease on YoY.
However, the MSCI Egypt index witnessed a 10.51% decrease in June, to close at 568.63 points on 30/06/2006, and a 0.77% decrease on a YoY basis.
