Listing

Total number of listed companies on CASE in July 2007 decreased to 525 companies as opposed to 544 in the previous month.

There was one new listed company this month, with a total capitalization of US$ 50 million (LE 285 million).

Turnover

Total number of trading days in July 2007 amounted to 21 days with total value traded of US$ 4,528 million (LE 25,806 million). Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 4,175 million (LE 23,795 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 92.36%, 7.64% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 353 million (LE 2,011 million), which represents 8% of total value traded for the month.

This is in comparison to June 2007, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 5,568 million (LE31,737 million), of which shares represented 91.54%, bonds 8.46% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 226 million (LE 1,291 million) i.e. 4% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached US$ 5,794 million (LE 33,028 million).

Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 777 million securities.

During July 2007, 664,790 transactions were concluded with an average of 31,657 trades per day, as opposed to 641,911 transactions and an average of32,096 trades per day in June 2007.

Indices

CASE 30 price index, the official market index, witnessed a 5.65% increase in July 2007 to reach 8244.25 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 45.29%.

Likewise, the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed a 4.55% increase in July, to close at 1749.10 points on 31/7/2007, and a 37.10% increase on a YoY basis.

Price Movements of Selected Shares

The ten most active stocks represented 55.60% of the total value & 60.05% of the total volume of shares traded for the month.

During the month of July, the top five gainers, on the official CASE market, were (in descending order of price change) GB AUTO (+3,927%), El Arabia for Projects & Construction Development Co. (+595%), International Agricultural Products (+321%), Egyptian Real Estate (+164%) and Sharkia National Food (+150%).

The top five losers were (in ascending order of price change) Kaha Company for preserved Foods (-69%), El Nasr Transformers (El Maco) (-22%), Pharco Pharmaceuticals (-22%), Polyserve for Fertilizers and Chemicals (-20%) and Cairo Oils & Soap (-19%).

Market Capitalization

Total market capitalization of shares amounted to US$ 110.7 billion (LE 630.9 billion) as of end of July 2007 compared to US$ 105.6 billion (LE 601.8 billion) in June 2007, representing a 4.8% increase.

The bond capitalization recorded US$ 695 million (LE 4 billion) for corporate bonds and US$ 10 billion (LE 59 billion) for government bonds at the end of July 2007 (Including Treasury Bonds according to Primary Dealers System).

Foreign Participation

In July 2007, foreign investors participated with 34.7% of the total market value traded with a net inflow of portfolio foreign investment totaling US$ 251 million (LE 1.4 billion).
