Listing

Total number of listed companies on CASE in February 2007 decreased to 572 companies as opposed to 592 in the previous month.

There were three new listed companies this month, with a total capitalization of US$ 117 million (LE 668 million).

Turnover

Total number of trading days in February 2007 amounted to 20 days with total value traded of US$ 3,532 million (LE 20,135 million). Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 3,260 million (LE 18,585 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 92.21%, 7.79% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 272 million (LE 1,550 million), which represents 8% of total value traded for the month.

This is in comparison to January 2007, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 3,169 million (LE 18,065 million), of which shares represented 95.20%, bonds 4.80% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 130 million (LE 742 million) i.e. 4% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached US$ 3,299 million (LE 18,807 million).

Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 804 million securities.

During February 2007, 641,953 transactions were concluded with an average of 32,098 trades per day, as opposed to 627,406 transactions and an average of 33,021 trades per day in January 2007.

Indices

CASE 30 price index, the official market index, witnessed a 7.3% increase in February 2007 to reach 7165.06 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 1.0%.

However, the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed an 8.2% increase in February, to close at 1567.69 points on 28/2/2007, and a 2.9% decrease on a YoY basis.

Price Movements of Selected Shares

The ten most active stocks represented 68.1% of the total volume of shares traded and 55.9% of total value of shares traded for the month.

During the month of February, the top five gainers, on the official CASE market, were (in descending order of price change) Daynamic Securities Trading (+731%), EL Nasr Mining Co. (+440%), National Development Bank (+86%), International Company For Leasing (IncoLEASE) (+73%) and International Company For Leasing (IncoLEASE) less right (+73%).

The top five losers were (in ascending order of price change) Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS) (-32%), Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment (-32%), Egyptian Electrical Cables (-28%), Northern Upper Egypt Development & Agricultural Production (-24%) and Ceramic & Porcelain (-19%).

Market Capitalization

Total market capitalization of shares amounted to US$ 94.4 billion (LE 538 billion) as of end of February 2007 compared to US$ 88.5 billion (LE 504 billion) in January 2007, representing a 6.7% increase.

The bond capitalization recorded US$ 0.7 billion (LE 4.1 billion) for corporate bonds and US$ 9.5 billion (LE 54.2 billion) for government bonds at the end of February 2007 (Including Treasury Bonds according to Primary Dealers System).

Foreign Participation

In February 2007, foreign investors participated with 32.1% of the total market value traded with a net inflow of portfolio foreign investment totaling US$ 232 million (LE 1.3 billion).
