Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 1,399 million (LE 7,692 million), which represents 22% of total value traded for the month.
This is in comparison to November 2007, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 6,977 million (LE 38,374million), of which shares represented 97.70%, bonds 2.30% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 2,722 million (LE 14,972 million) i.e. 28% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached US$ 9,699 million (LE 53,346 million).
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 1,031.51 million securities.
During December 2007, 807,919 transactions were concluded with an average of 42,522 trades per day, as opposed to 950,924 transactions and an average of 45,282 trades per day in November 2007.
Indices
CASE 30 price index, the official market index, witnessed a 8.52% increase in December 2007 to reach 10549.74 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 51.29%.
Likewise, the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed a 7.93% increase in December, to close at 2212.05 points 31/12/2007, and a 44.41% increase on a YoY basis.
