In celebration of Earth Day on 22 April, Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or “the Exchange”) is organising “Bursa Malaysia’s Earth Week” from this Tuesday to Thursday, 22 to 24 April 2025, at its premise in Kuala Lumpur. This initiative reflects the Exchange’s commitment to championing sustainability practices within the capital market and the broader community.
Earth Week Activities
The Earth Week programme features engagements tailored to different stakeholder groups:
- Day 1 (22 April 2025): Bursa Malaysia x RHB ESG Series 2. Co-hosted by Bursa Malaysia and RHB Investment Bank, this closed-door session convened industry leaders and ESG specialists to provide expert perspectives on transition and decarbonisation action plans for Malaysia’s economy.
- Day 2 (23 April 2025): Earth Day for Warga Bursa. In collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Malaysia, this session aims to provide Bursa Malaysia employees with practical climate actions to progress on the Exchange’s emission reduction goals.
- Day 3 (24 April 2025):
- Public Listed Companies (PLC) Transformation Workshop. Part of an ongoing series to help PLCs enhance their performance, this sustainability workshop will focus on strategies to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
- ECO Carnival. Open to the public, this full-day programme will feature engaging exhibitions, interactive experiences, and expert-led discussions – designed to raise greater awareness and inspire positive change for a greener, more sustainable future.
- Panel Session on Sustainable Investing in Malaysia: Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities. A collaboration between Bursa Malaysia and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) that focuses on the importance of responsible investing, the challenges faced by PLCs and the opportunities that are widely available.
Exciting highlights at the ECO Carnival include:
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Test Drives & Rides. Discover the smooth, fun and sustainable benefits of electric vehicles. Test drives & rides of electric cars and motorcycles including the BMW iX2, BMW CE04, and Blueshark R1 smart electric scooter, at the carnival.
- Explore Over 25 Exhibition Booths. Explore advancements in clean energy, green technology, and sustainable living. Visitors can also learn more about Bursa Malaysia’s investment products and services including the Bursa Gold Dinar, Central Depository System (CDS) services, as well as connect with broker partners.
- Power Up Your Sustainability Know-How. Gain valuable insights from industry experts through sustainability talks and seminars, and explore how climate action is reshaping businesses and investments. This includes a special panel discussion in collaboration with UUM on the future of sustainable investing in Malaysia. Other talks include sustainable solutions covering solar energy, waste transformation, and other energy-efficient technologies.

Bursa Malaysia’s Earth Week is a call to action designed to engage, educate, and rally every level of society to drive significant change,” said Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia.
“We hope to shape a greener marketplace and society, and inspire a sustainability-driven Malaysia,” he added.
Members of the public are invited to attend the ECO Carnival this Thursday, 24 April 2025, at Bursa Malaysia’s Annexe Building, Bukit Kewangan, Kuala Lumpur, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free, and the first 500 visitors to register on-site stand a chance to redeem a gift.*
